Amber Alert Issued for 2 Texas Boys

The Dallas Police Department issued the local Amber Alert after the suspect carjacked a mini-van with two children inside on Friday evening.

Edgar Alanzo, 6 mos., Hispanic male, 1'6", 18 lbs. with brow hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a red and blue striped shirt and blue jeans.

David Alanzo, 3 yrs., Hispanic male, 2', 40 lbs. with brown eyes and brown hair. He was last seen wearing a black short-sleeved shirt, bue jeans and black tennis shoes. He also has a gold bracelet on his right wrist.

Police are looking for a Black male approximately 30 yrs., 5'6" and 170 lbs.

The suspect vehicle is a Gray Plymouth mini-van with TX tag number L59HRP.

Anyone with information should call the Dallas Police Department at 214-671-4268 or dial 911.

Vanderpool baby and Empty Arms Care Packages - Pennsylvania, USA

The Vanderpool baby died in the hospital. Mother Mary is looking for help to collect items for what she is calling Empty Arms Care Packages. She plans to give the packages to Arnot Odgen Medical Center and Robert Packer Hospital to be given to local families when they lose an infant. Update: A judge found that "any further aggressive treatment, even if necessary to prolong life," was not in the baby's best interests. (read story)

Earlier today an Amber Alert was issued for Stormy Shirk in Kansas. WIBW reports that Stormy was found safe (Stormy Found).

Update: at 11:05 PM, September 13, 2004, Allie left us for a better place. Our deepest thoughts and sympathies go out to her family and friends.

It has come to pass that in less than a week of operation, the site has already helped families benefit from the thoughts and prayers of others around the world, due to the kindness and love of all who visit these kids' sites. For those who want to start their own site to update others on their child's progress, google and blogger provide the easy to use blogger service free of charge, and similar free websites such as caringbridge can be utilized as well. Leave a comment on an existing post in this blog if you have a link for us. It will be included as soon as possible.

Children of Beslan, Russia

A terrible tragedy in Beslan occurred earlier this month (CNN story).

Over 500 children were injured, many of them very seriously. A large number of them will require extensive medical treatment and, unfortunately, many will still remain handicapped for the rest of their life. There are also a large number of children who lost one or both of their parents.

Non-monetary contributions such as toys or non-credit card financial contributions can be directed to the Russian Embassy.
